Readers, a new development must be reported. Finley has transformed from a page eater to a page turner. Nothing holds her attention longer now than a good book, i.e., which for us, right now, tends to be a big board book, with one picture, and one word. Finley loves holding the book, turning the pages, touching the pictures, and trying to sound out the words. b b b bird...m m m mooo...b b b ball.

THROWBACK THURSDAY, SELFIES AND DOLLY PARTON

 In the midst of no sleep and trying to figure it out, Finley and I managed to sneak in our first selfie while listening to Dolly Parton sing The Story over and over again. Someday I hope to thank Dolly as her beautiful, haunting voice soothed my sweet Finley so much during the first few months of her life as she transitioned from womb to world. My brave, Finny.

Dolly, if you only knew. Finley, "All of these lines across my face tell you the story of who I am. So many stories of where I've been and how I got to where I am, but these stories don't mean anything when you've got no one to tell them to, it's true I was made for you. PROTECTED CLASS

Readers, as many of you know, I am an employment/labor attorney. Per the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, anyone 40 or older is in a protected class. Folks, on January 11, 2018, I entered this protected class. Finley was all about celebrating my new status.

REUNITED AND IT FEELS SO GOOD

Well, mommy is back to work but don't worry readers, Finley is in good hands. She was reunited with Aunt Cake and had a wonderful day showing off all of her new toys. Finley's wall of fame grandparents have helped out as well. All is good, so long as Sardine and Pap-Pap are nearby.

PLAY DATE

One of the greatest things about play dates is that Finley gets to play with new toys! Last night, Finley hung out with the boys, baby Bodhi and Lev, and was entranced by all the world has to offer.
