FINNY'S GOOD PAL, GREAT UNCLE JEROME

Through it all, Great Uncle Jerome, has faced life with grace, optimism, and kindness. Although we would do anything for the circumstances to be different, Finley and I have cherished the additional time we have spent with Great Uncle Jerome. Maybe, someday Finley will sleep with the Korean.

When Jerome is home, he is always close to Finny, blocking the exits to ensure Finley's safety. Jerome, we all love you very much, you will forever be baby Finny's Uncle Je Je with the fuzzy beard.

THROWBACK THURSDAY, IDLEWILD

Readers, you likely know that all members of the Waskowicz family are die hard Idlewild fans. Last summer, I could not wait to take my sweet baby girl to such a magical place. Per usual, things did not go as planned as Finley officially was the only baby at Idlewild who cried almost the entire time. Somehow, Grandma was able to catch one moment when no tears were being shed though Finley managed to express how she really felt about Idlewild. On the way home, we pulled over on 376 to breastfeed. No shame in our game. We will try Idlewild again this year. To be cont...

LOOK AT THAT GIRL IN HER DAISY DUKES

So, when Finley and I sit on our favorite bench on Butler street and wave to everyone and everything that passes by, I have noticed a horrible new trend -- young girls are wearing extremely short short shorts. Sometimes shockingly short. I explained to Finley that it is mommy's preference that she wears long, mesh shorts until she is fifty (50). Looks like Finley is rebelling. Sometimes it feels good to be bad;)

CHEERS

Finley sharing some love with sweet sweet Bailey.

THE SANCTUARY OF THE BEDROOM

Finley sitting on her favorite (only) chair while holding her toy, "meow meow," while taking it all in.

Finley reading one of her favorite books, Freight Train. Chug a chug a chug a chug a choo choo! Mommy loves this book too. Like mommy like Finny.

AHH, FIRST ONES HERE!!

Both mommy and Finley, alike, were so excited for open streets Lawrenceville. In fact, in the words of one of mommy's favorites, Clark W. Griswold, Jr., "Ahh, first ones here, and you know why? Because we are the Waskowiczes."

THE GREEN HORNET

As many readers know, Finley and I love hanging out on Butler street where we can sit on our favorite bench and wave to dogs, people, bikers, joggers, people on motorcycles, hipsters, old-time larryvillers, you name it. Finley goes particularly crazy for bikes - when she sees one she flaps her arms and says, "bi bi bi." Here Finley is checking out her bike (that her amazing grandma, a toy lover herself, got her) for the first time. Looking good, Finnster! Vroom Vrooom!

LAZY SUMMER DAYS...

Summer 2018 marks the first season (summer) that Finley has experienced twice. What a difference a year makes. Almost everything we do, reminds me of those precious, fragile, at times scary and overwhelming days from a year ago. Thanks for sticking with me, Finn. Every minute with you is a gift.

FWs

Hard to imagine feeling much happier than this...

SINGLE MOMS UNITE

Finley has brought so many amazing, strong women into my life. She has opened up my world. We both are forever grateful for our single moms' club. From left to right: Jill and baby Ellie; Steph and baby Bodhi; Kim and Baby Lev; and your truly with baby Finley. What are the chances the four of us...the eight of us...would find one another. Life works in mysterious ways.

EARLY MORNINGS WITH GIDDY

LOOK WHO IS ONE!

Thank you for the best year of my life, Finley Patience Waskowicz.

We had a quiet morning together, celebrating the milestone...

Neighbor Lisa brought us an awesome banner

We put on Grandma's dress...

Then the new moms came over to celebrate and eight (8) babies had a ball. Finley quickly disrobed and opted for the simplest of fashions, her diaper...

ROTTEN EGG OR BUTTERED POPCORN

You'd have to ask these two;)

PAP-PAP: Couldn't stomach the spoiled milk
GRANDMA: Gagged on the dead fish
TISTAH: In typical Cass style, she committed to the mind over matter strategy and ate a booger and barf jellybean like they were pieces of chocolate.
TIFF: Still recovering from rotten egg...involuntary spit up
GIDEON: Loved every second of this game...
ISAAC: Threw in the towel after taking a bite of canned dog food
MILES: Was smart enough not to play
FINLEY: Yes, I've said this before, and I will say it again, these people truly are your relatives.

SHOWING FINLEY THE ROPES

MILES: Here let me show you how to do it.

MILES: You hold onto your lovey just like this.

MILES: and then you bring your lovey to your mouth

FINLEY: Goo Goo Ga dar dar (translation, "like this, Miles?")

MILES: You've got it!

DISCLAIMER: Miles is only demonstrating, he is not doing it "for real."

GIDEON'S BUNDLE OF LOVE

In what has become a Waskowicz/Greenberger tradition, the nephews visited Pittsburgh over Memorial Day. However, this year was the first year our Finley was here to celebrate the beginning of the summer with her blood brothers. We learned, yet again, that every home needs a porch swing.

Here's Finley fighting off sleep so she can spend that much more time with everyone. Bed times are overrated when the boys are in town.

P.S. My sweet, sweet Gideon, you can hold Finley whenever you like.
