BRAVE KINDERGARTNER - ONE DAY AT A TIME

 Something momentous, incredible, and "Brain-exploding" has happened...FInley started Kindergarten.

She has been so brave as we navigate this transition. Finley did not know one "friend" in her Toucan class but bravely walked into the room with an open heart, ears, and eyes. For the past 3 weeks, she has observed, analyzed, and taken it in and, at night, she asks me to ask questions about "Ellis," during which time I get bits and pieces of what her life as a Kindergartner is like. So different than when I was a child where my day ended at noon. So far, she has been so strong, resilient, and patient...Every day I learn from her. 

Finley loves her jumper! 

Glad to have a friend like Ellie...Although they are in different sections (Ellie is a Flamingo) they stick together whenever the birds co-mingle. So grateful!!

The first (of many) walks to Ellis drop-off (we have since altered our walking path to avoid 5th but here is a shot from "The beginning." Thanks for being with us Grandma! 

Could anything be better than the Ellis mascot being a Tiger? How perfect for our Tiger-loving Finley!

And they are off with the Lower School Head, Jamie!

A week or so later, I'd say that Finley is enjoying her time thus far...(as they say, the proof is in the pudding...actually, not sure who says that:)
